If you want a career in law, there are lots of different directions you can go in. Here are some of the options that you might not see discussed so often. Below are the Law Careers.

Law Careers

Legal Secretaries

This is one of those jobs in the legal profession that tends to go under the radar. Offering secretarial support to legal professionals isn’t the most glamorous jobs in the world. But it is one of the most important jobs around. The people at the top of the big legal firms simply wouldn’t be able to do their jobs if it weren’t for the legal secretaries. They control all the important documents and files and make sure that lawyers have all the information they need to have.

Paralegal

Paralegals also assist lawyers in the work, but in a different kind of way. They do things like drafting documents and carrying out research. It’s the kind of thing that is great for people who are looking for a way into the legal profession. You might even be asked to write up contracts and help to prepare legal cases for professional lawyers. If you are looking for a paralegal job, you shouldn’t have any trouble because there are a lot of them around. Look at paralegal recruitment companies and see what vacancies are out there.

Judge

You can’t simply become a judge overnight; it’s something that takes years of hard work and effort. Judges are appointed after they have worked as solicitors and barristers for a long time. But some people are fully focused on becoming a judge even at the start of their careers. It takes a long-term plan and a willingness to work hard if you are going to become a judge, but it might all be worth it in the end. It’s one of the biggest jobs in the legal profession, and one of the most respected jobs in society.

Legal Executive

A chartered legal executive can be a great career path. It can be something that you focus on for your whole career. Or you can become a legal executive on the path to becoming a professional solicitor. It works as a great learning process because you can work on real world cases and see how the law operates in practice. This is something that graduates and people without law degrees can take on. It’s a difficult job and the workload is pretty large, but it can be a great way to enter the world of the law.

Careers Outside the Law

There are plenty of other career options that people with law qualifications choose to go down. Many of them don’t even directly interact with the law. Having a law degree gives you all kinds of options, so you shouldn’t take a narrow view of what you can do in your career. A career in teaching, government, the civil service or the financial sector can be just as interesting. Law qualifications are always highly respected, so you won’t need to worry about finding a good job.
